Description
NBES hosted an intensive, 5-day, 35-hour workshop that introduced industry professionals to the art of puppetry. The workshop was offered to anyone in Nunavut. The workshop was designed for anyone that is interested in learning about puppetry for film and television. No experience required. The course content was delivered using hands-on, experiential teaching techniques. Students learned about puppets by making, using and performing with them.
This training was available from August 7th – 11th, 2015.
Workshop Content
This workshop was divided into three sections:
(1) The study of puppet manipulation; breath, voice, impulse, and movement;
(2) Puppet construction; design, material and mechanisms; and
(3) Performance creation explored through collaboration in diverse ensemble groups, creating original and experimental material.
